CSIP-AUS testing and certification

Future CSIP-AUS testing and certification

The ISC, through the ANU, is leading the establishment of a nationally consistent testing and certification service to support future CSIP-AUS deployment across Australia. The new testing and certification service will commence later in 2025 and kick off testing and certification for CSIP-AUS compliance.

Inverters will be tested and certified compliant with Standards Australia’s new Technical Standard TS5573:2025, which replaces its predecessor, Standards Australia’s Handbook HB218:2023.

To ensure consistency in interpretation and deployment, the ISC is also developing a server testing and certification service, which will enable Distribution Network Service Providers across Australia to test their own utility servers against a ‘reference server’ to ensure each will be compatible with inverters certified to TS5573:2025.

The new national testing and certification service is scheduled to launch in October 2025. Please see Consultation Activities for more details about launch of the new service.

Testing and certification activities for CSIP-AUS are currently undertaken by the DNSP in which the customer is connecting to, although there exist mutual acceptance agreements for testing outcomes between DNSPs.
